This blog explains the root entity “Person” and its associated field groups in Informatica SaaS MDM and is your key to managing and governing customer data effectively. 

A Field Group or Business Entity is a collection of business attributes or fields that form functionalities like persons or individual customers, suppliers, address, loyalty, email, or phone in Informatica SaaS MDM. 

Informatica SaaS MDM has a customer 360 UI interface which enables data stewards to perform data governance activities like identifying similar business records under persons or suppliers and performing manual merge, unmerge, data cleansing, etc. 

Person - Root Entity

The person or customer is a root entity with associated child field groups such as address, loyalty, email, phone, etc. 

In the above example, the person ‘Jon deo’ has general attributes like first name, last name, full name, birth date, gender, and marital status. These attributes describe an individual person. Any additional person attribute can be configured based on the customer’s business requirements. 

Address Field Group

The address has attributes like address type, such as primary or secondary, address line 1, address line 2, state, address line 3, country, and zip code. 

The address is a child of the root entity person and provides address details of the person. 

Additional address attributes can be configured based on the customer’s business requirements. 

Phone Field Group

Phone has general attributes like phone type like landline or cellular, phone number, phone number extension, do not call Indicator, etc. 

The phone is a child of the root entity person and provides phone/contact details of the person. 

Additional phone attributes can be configured based on the customer’s business requirements.  

Email Field Group

Email has attributes like email address Id, usage type, default indicator, default indicator etc. Email is a child of the root entity person and provides email details of the person. 

Any additional email attributes can be configured based on the customer business requirements.  

Loyalty Field Group

Loyalty has attributes like loyalty account number/loyalty number unique to each person, loyalty points accumulated, loyalty status like active or inactive, and tiers like: 

Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Red. 

Loyalty is a child of the root entity person and provides loyalty details of the person. 

Additional loyalty attributes are configured based on the customer’s business requirements. 

For each person’s record, include the source system details, history, hierarchy, and other relevant information.
